Hello to all, and welcome to my blog, CarrieHatesCancer!
I've created this blog for all of us; for me, it's a diary to keep track of everything that's about to happen to me (and already has), and for you, it's a way to stay updated on my adventure (sounds better than "problem" or "disease") and keep in touch. Of course, I'll still want to hear from you, but this will save me from having to rehash every doctor's appointment and new piece of information.
Anyway, hopefully all of you loved ones have heard directly from me that I have been diagnosed with breast cancer at the tender age of 25 years. What a drag! But we'll get through it, together (don't worry, I'll do most of the hard parts). I hope this keeps us all connected and informed! Enjoy and stay tuned!
A Timeline of My Hair
I thought I'd put some pictures to show my cancer adventure through my hairstyles. (Note: They go from newest to oldest.)
Me with my young survivor gals in New York City! I almost have a hairstyle!
My new hair (and me!) at my end-of-treatment celebration. Nice face I'm making, no?
A much nicer bald picture...
Nothing Left! (My head looks like an upside-down egg. With a smile, usually.)
My waist is getting fat and my hair is getting thin...
I think the blue is actually better than my real hair ever was...
Fuzzy and smiling... even if I hate it...
Weird picture, I know, but look at my hair!
What the...? A Guideline Note for Reading
So my mom mentioned to me this morning at breakfast that she thinks it's confusing that my blog shows the newer posts first. And if you happen to be new to my blog (welcome!), you might feel as if you've been thrown in the middle and don't know what's going on.
If this is the case, I wanted to explain to you how to get to the beginning. If you scroll down this side of the page, there is an archive of older posts. They're listed by month. If you click on the little arrow sign in front of the month, a list will drop down with blog post titles. They're organized by date, newest to oldest. You can click on a specific post, or just click on the month. If you want to start from the beginning, you'll want to click on "June" and go from there.
Once you're up to date on everything, you can just start reading the new stuff! And if you don't care about any of the old stuff, then forget everything I just said!
